Brown Anole

The Brown anole is a small lizard species found in Jamaica and other parts of the Caribbean. It is a member of the genus Anolis and belongs to the family Dactyloidae.

The Brown anole typically grows to about 5-8 inches (12-20 cm) in length, with a slender body and a long, thin tail. Its coloration can vary depending on its environment, but it is generally brown to gray with darker markings on its back and a lighter underside. Males tend to have a brighter, more distinct pattern than females.

Like other anoles, the Brown anole has a distinctive dewlap, or throat fan, that it can extend and display during courtship or territorial displays. It also has specialized toe pads that allow it to climb and cling to surfaces, making it a skilled arboreal hunter of insects and other small prey.
