Anolis garmani, commonly known as the Jamaican anole or Jamaican giant anole, is a species of lizard found only in Jamaica, but has been introduced to Florida. It is a large anole, reaching up to 18 centimeters in length, and is known for its impressive dewlap, or throat fan, which males use to attract mates and intimidate rivals. The Jamaican anole is a highly adaptable species, found in a variety of habitats across the island, from wet forests to urban gardens. Although it is not currently considered threatened, habitat destruction and competition from introduced species are potential threats to its survival.
