Northern Parula

The Northern Parula is a small, brightly colored songbird found in Jamaica. Males have blue-gray backs and wings, yellow breasts, and blue-gray hoods with a black band across the eyes. Females are less brightly colored, with olive backs and yellow breasts. They inhabit forested areas and can often be seen flitting through the branches of trees, singing a high-pitched trill. Northern Parulas are migratory, breeding in North America and wintering in the Caribbean and Central America.
